At LP Food at Work, we believe that a sustainable food system is only possible when it is built on a foundation of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. As a certified B Corp, we are committed to moving beyond performative statements to take tangible, evidence-based action that dismantles systemic barriers within the hospitality industry.

Our commitment is rooted in four pillars:

• Justice: We acknowledge the historic inequities in food systems and actively work to repair them by ensuring our operations and partnerships empower marginalized communities.
• Equity: We move beyond “equal opportunity” to provide tailored support that ensures every team member, regardless of their starting point, has the resources to thrive.
• Diversity: We celebrate the diverse backgrounds, identities, and food cultures of our employees and partners as essential to our creativity and resilience.
• Inclusion: We foster a workplace culture where everyone is invited to share their authentic selves and participate in decision-making processes.

Our 2026 Action Plan

To ensure this commitment is structural rather than symbolic, we pledge to:

1. Collect & Disaggregate Data: Conduct annual voluntary demographic surveys to identify and address disparities in pay, promotion, and professional development.
2. Ensure Accessibility: Verify that our internal tools and public-facing digital platforms meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards to ensure full participation for persons with disabilities.
3. Embed Inclusive Procurement: Set specific targets to increase supplier diversity, prioritizing partnerships with local, underrepresented, or minority-owned businesses.
4. Continuous Training: Provide mandatory annual JEDI training for all leadership and management roles to cultivate inclusive leadership.

We hold ourselves accountable by publishing our JEDI progress report annually, ensuring our commitment to people is as rigorous as our commitment to quality.

GRIEVANCE AND DISPUTES PROCEDURE

In the case of an issue involving an individual or individuals, the following Grievance and Disputes procedure is designed to provide speedy, sufficient and full facilities for fair settlement of all matters arising within the Catering Establishment (“the unit”) and whilst procedures are under way, work shall continue normally and discussions will not be hindered by unconstitutional action by either party.

If there are any significant differences from this Grievance and Disputes procedure, at your Unit, you will be told by the Manager.

Stage1.

1. a)  In the case of an individual issue, the Employee concerned should raise this with his/her Line Manager. All employees have the right to invite a fellow employee to support him/her in putting the grievance to the Management at all stages.
2. b)  The Manager, may, if necessary, consult with other members of Management in order to find a satisfactory solution and will where reasonably practical, give an answer within 2 working days of the date of the issue being raised.
3. d)  In the event of failure to agree, the issues will be referred to Stage 2.

Stage 2.

If the issue is unresolved at Stage 1, the Line Manager can request a meeting, at the earliest mutually convenient date and not more than three working days after Stage 1, to discuss the issue.

Failing settlement at this Stage, the issue will be referred to Stage 3.

Stage 3.

If the issue is still not resolved, Chris Pilkington will request a meeting at the earliest mutually convenient date and not more than three working days after Stage 2, to discuss the issue

Stage 4.

If the issue is still not resolved, Richard Leeming will request a meeting at the earliest mutually convenient date and not more than three working days after Stage 3, to discuss the issue

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, the company will legally embed their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company articles.

LP Food at Work is now part of a community of 7,000 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps. The B Corp community in the UK, representing a broad cross section of industries and sizes, comprises over 1,500 companies and include well-known brands such as The Guardian, innocent, Patagonia, The Body Shop and organic food pioneers Abel & Cole.

Recent attention on the food industry makes LP’s B Corp certification a notable step and signals a shift towards greater accountability and transparency in the sector.
